2017 Bamford Carnival Scarecrow Trail

posted 27 May 2017, 12:58 by Dave Watson
Last year there were some amazing creations dotted around village but this year we would like to see even more scarecrows! With a Fabulous CASH Prize of £75 to the Best Scarecrow (or Scarecrow Group/Scene) and £25 for the runner up!!!!

You do not need to make your scarecrow on your own – you can also get together with your family, friends, club, pub or neighbours and start thinking about making a scarecrow for the carnival.

This year’s theme is “Children’s Fairy Tales/Books” which gives plenty of scope for ideas.  There are no restrictions on the size of your scarecrow; it can be a small single scarecrow or a whole scene. It could represent your road/business/club or individual house.

Scarecrows will need to be on display from Friday 14 July as judging will take place on the 15 July and should stay up for the whole of carnival week. If we get enough scarecrows there will also be a map available showing the location of all the scarecrows enabling people to follow the trail around Bamford.

So put on your Worzel Gummidge thinking heads and email bamfordscarecrow@gmail.com for your entry form today!  We can then contact you with everything you need to know to take part in the 2017 Bamford Carnival Scarecrow Trail.  Don’t worry if you’re not sure on how to go about making a scarecrow as we will be sharing Top Tips over the coming weeks.

We can’t wait for what is set to be an amazing 2017 Bamford Carnival Scarecrow Trail.

Good luck from the 2017 Bamford Carnival Committee
