The Christmas lights in the centre of Bamford are lit each year between (usually) Advent Sunday - when there is a switching-on ceremony - and Twelfth Night.Â
Originally installed some years previously by a team of volunteer villagers, in 2024 a good proportion of the installation was given a substantial overhaul, so should now be fit for some years to come. Some of the Lights are installed on private property, but the majority are on public land - The Green and Coronation Gardens - and that public-land part of the installation now belongs to the Parish Council (though the Council was not involved in the early years of the project).
