Bamford History Group

Bamford and District History Group 2021

We are a group of volunteers who want to preserve local history in Bamford.

We organize monthly speakers, exhibitions and trips to places of local historic interest.

We have an archive of photographs, memorabilia and anecdotal evidence.

Because of Covid-19 our programme of events was cancelled but we are starting up again with a September meeting and film about the history of Ladybower Reservoir 75 years after it was opened. This film by Frank Parker has been on YouTube and has been very well received by those who have seen it. Now updated as ‘Memories of a Lost Valley’ Frank will do a presentation of the film on September 10th 2021.

We plan to have a series of other interesting talks following on in October, November and into 2022. These will be advertised in Bamford News and on notice boards and on Bamford Village website.

We would be glad to receive any help with our programme of activities and please let us know if you have any family photos or documents about Bamford or the locality we could copy for our archive. We are always looking for new speakers.
