We play at 2pm every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon in the upstairs room at the Bamford Institute, running from the beginning of October through to the end of March (after which the outdoor bowls season starts).
We are a really friendly lot and are delighted to welcome new members at any time from complete beginners to experienced players. Some of us come just on a Tuesday or a Thursday, some on both days. There are bowls available to borrow and lots of help available for newcomers.
Fees are £20 at the beginning of the season which is the fee for the Bamford Institute and covers any other activities running there. After that there is just a £2 fee each session which helps pay for the tea and biscuits. New members are welcome to come a couple of times at £2 a session to see if they like it before paying the Institute fee.
